I play to a 1 handicap, played the pro v1 when they first came out. I then switched to the B330s and was really surprised with the performance of the ball. So when the 330 rx came out I tried it and really like the ball. For me the B330s and the 330 rx out preforms any other balls out on the market today.

Hi Don,
I’m going to have a member of Bridgestone Golf’s R&D Team answer your question about the performance differences between the B330RX and B330S in a post I’m going to be writing about ball fitting. I can tell you from playing both the B330RX and B330S the big difference is in the amount of compression and greenside control. The B330RX is intended for players with slower swing speeds under 100 MPH, so the ball will compress more at slower swing speeds, etc.

Can an expert help me in determining the major difference in performance between the 330S and the RX ? Swing speed 90mph. I cannot tell the difference for the life of me.
Also, I live adjacent to a par 5 landing area of a local golf club, found a Nike Vapor in my back yard . NOT BAD if you need soft, but not close to the above.

I switched from ProV1 to the Bridgestone B330S one year ago and love it. 15 yards longer and plenty of check around the green (almost the same spin as the ProV1), and great feedback when you flush it. Because my swing speed is only 99mph, (52years old), I really looked forward to the new 330RX. Twice got fitted for it at the Bridgestone ball challenge, they claimed 1o more yards compared to the 330S, do to reduced backspin and better launch angle. Well I tried them for 5 rounds… just not a good ball for me. Feels mushy, and actually lost distance, It was always warm weather so maybe I”ll try again in the winter. For me I am back to the 330S.

I played a Pro V1 x in 2007-2008, and have switched to the RX for this year. I don’t play different balls throughout a season. So far half way thru 2009 I am pleasantly surprised with the RX performance and durability. I hit it as far, maybe farther, than the Pro V1x and definitely get more spin and stopping power around the greens. Good ball worth a try. Worth the price and hype? To me it is.

I am 62 years. I have been playing the Pro V1 ball for about 2 years. The golf guy at Dick’s talked me into trying the Bridgestone B330 RX. The reason was because of my relatively low swing speed(91). I found no advantage in distance at all. They don’t seem to stop as quick as the Pro V1 on the greens either. I agree with one of the other comments about the similatity of this ball with the NXT tour ball. That being the case, the NXTs are a better value for the buck. As for me, I’m sticking with the PRO V1.

I also made the switch from the Pro V1x to this ball. Prior to these I played the NXT Tour. The Bridgestone feels slightly softer than the NXT Tour and longer on my drives than the V1x. So, it is a great combo for my 95-99 MPH driver swing speed, plus it checks better than the NXT.

I was in Orlando during the 2009 Golf Show and I had a chance to play few rounds of golf. I did try this new ball from Bridgestone. I realy like it. Specialy around the green. The ball just stop on a dime. I just had some of those printed with my company name on it. With these Logo golf balls I am set for the season.

These are an expensive version of the NXT Tour ball. I gound these balls to be hard and less spin than a Pro V1. These balls are ok but waaaaay overpriced. They are essentially the same price as Pro V1 but no where close to Pro V1 performance. I’d save the $15 and go with NXT Tour.

I’v played two round with these balls and they have done everything I have asked of them. I play to a 5 handicap .
I played Pro V1’s before these. One of the biggest differences I noticed right away was how much more durable the B 330 RX were! I played two rounds with the same ball, hitting them out of the sand a least 5 times and they still look brand new!
I think the B 330 Rx is a great ball. I do wish they were $ 10.00 less. With that being said I found the best price from Backyard Golf at $ 39.00 per doz.
The bottom line, the B330 RX is a great golf ball for someone with a swing speed around 100 mph! Have fun out on the links!!
