How would you like to be able to see what Aaron Baddeley’s does when he begins his putting pre-shot routine? Seeitgolf’s release of its first product, Aaron Baddeley: Putting, is a groundbreaking tool for golfers to mentally improve their game and literally change their minds about how they putt.

The Aaron Baddeley: Putting video recreates this look and feel to take the viewer inside the mind of Baddeley as he perfectly executes a series of putts from different distances, angles and undulations. If you read my review of the book Your 15th Club, you know how the best golfers in the world all visualize their shots, and this putting video reinforces positive imagery and success, through what sports psychologists refer to as the “Law of Recency.”The Law of Recency, can be summed up as what we see or visualize 10-12 seconds prior to the act, in this case puttting, will directly affect our success, or failure, of the effort.

The product was created by a who’s-who team of experts in the golf industry who partnered with Seeitgolf to provide a distraction-free, zone-like training environment for use on a personal media player. By training the mind to expect the ball to roll in the hole, this training tool replaces the deeply ingrained images of doubt and hesitation most golfers have on the green. Players improve their game by performing a perfectly executed series of putts on their iPods, through the eyes of one of the best putters on the PGA Tour, Aaron Baddeley. This concept of immersing the mind in perfection has been proven to strengthen and improve performance.

How it Works
The 15 minutes and 13 seconds long downloadable video is meant to be viewed prior to your round of golf and can be loaded onto your mp3 player or phone, in my case I loaded it onto my iPhone.  By watching the video, prior to playing golf, you train your mind to visualize your shot line prior to each putt and replace all those negative images of missed putts with those of successful putts. It’s that simple of a training tool. As I mentioned the video is 15 minutes and 13 seconds long, which in my opinion is a little too long for my taste. I would have preferred the video to be 10 minutes long, instead. The last 5 minutes of the video I did start to get a little antsy, and wanted to go put into practice what I had been watching.

Point-of-View
The Aaron Baddeley: Putting video was shot from four different camera angles utilizing “Red” cameras to provide you with crystal clear images of each putt, making you feel like your there. Research has shown that the more vivid the imagery is, the more powerful and memorable the experience is, which is key to the visualization experience.  I was really impressed by the quality of the video and accompanying score, that puts you in this relaxed state of mind and really added to the sensory experience. The other cool feature of the putting video is seeing the shot line, which is displayed by a red line, clearly showing you the line that Aaron has visualized for the putt at hand. You can really begin to immerse yourself and see what Aaron see’s each and every time from different vantage points. By tilting my iPhone vertically I can see the point-of-view as Arron did while filming the video. Another nice feature of this video, is the fact you hear the sound of the ball hitting off the face of the putter, and the oh so pleasing sound of ball sinking in the cup. Your basically training your mind to only visualize positive outcomes when you putt, and watching this video before each round just reinforces those thoughts and expectations and your body begins to execute what it has visualized. It’s a very simple and effective concept. Aaron Baddeley says, “Using a tool that shows you 100% success and shows you what you want to achieve by actually seeing the desired result and letting the mind always see that result is going to make it a lot easier when you’re out on the golf course. You’ll actually get the positive result because you’ve already seen it.”

I’ve been using this tool for a while now and have found it be very helpful for me to visualize my putts and shot lines, and I’m confident it will make me a better golfer in the long run. I hope they follow up this video with a driving or irons video, because that’s another area I need to work on with improving my shot visualization.

While visualization techniques are nothing new in sports psychology, having a portable training tool like this, makes improving your mental game easier. Seeing is believing, and I think any golfer could benefit from watching this video. I recommend you download a copy of Aaron Baddeley: Putting and begin improving your mental game.

The Aaron Baddeley: Putting video sells fro $29.99
