The new Nike ONE series of golf balls for 2009 introduce three new ONE Ball models-The Nike ONE Tour, Nike ONE Tour D, and the Nike ONE Vapor. When Nike works with athletes on the PGA Tour, Nike Golf staff ensures that the ball technology is matched to the athlete’s swing speed, ball speed, and launch conditions. Now, Nike is bringing the same philosophy to the core golfer. Nike Golf has created more options for core golfers to find the ONE to match their ability. Now, there’s ONE for everyone.
Nike ONE Tour
The new Nike ONE Tour ball is the ultimate Tour performance golf ball. Nike’s athletes on the PGA Tour requested a softer cover for feel and workability around the green without compromising distance off the tee. To make it consumer friendly, Nike added a new cover blend designed to increase distance of the ball. In fact, Trevor Immelman used a prototype of this ball to win 2008 Masters. This is the same ball Anthony Kim, K.J. Choi, Stewart Cink, and Tiger Woods will be using. Key benefits: 4-Piece construction, Improved wood and long iron distance, Longer off off-center hits, Optimum mid iron spin and control, High short iron spin, High Tour level feel, Engineered for 90+mph swing.
Nike ONE Tour D
The new Nike ONE Tour D ball is Nike’s maximum Tour distance ball offering. For those looking for added distance off the tee with uncompromised feel around the green, The Nike ONE Tour D is the ball for you. Key benefits: 3-Piece construction, Longer wood and iron distance, Longer off off-center hits, Penetrating ball flight, Reduces excess driver spin, Soft feel off the driver, Engineered for 90+mph swing speeds.
Nike ONE Vapor
The new Nike ONE Vapor ball provides the perfect balance of distance and control for amateur golfers with targeted swing speeds of 80 mph and above. It’s for the distance seeker who wants just enough forgiveness to keep them in the short grass. Key benefits: 3-Piece construction, Longer distance for average swing speeds, Mid spin/increased distance, Added feel and durability, Engineered for 80+mph swing speeds.

I hope they put a more durable cover on the Nike One Tour. The last version’s cover peeled coming off the driver…how is that even possible?
Hi Doug,
I haven’t had that problem with any of the Nike ONE Platinum golf balls I reviewed last year and found them to be quite durable. I’m not really sure how the cover started peeling, unless it was bad batch. I’ll make sure to lookout for durability on the new incarnation of the Nike ONE’s.
I have played one round, (9 holes) with the new Nike One Tour (NOT). My first impression of the Nike One Plat was that it was still a litle clicky to my taste on chips and putts. I was not impressed at all when compared to the Pro V1. I had recently just started playing golf again after taking about 5 years off after high school. I used to play the Tour Balata 90 and loved the feel. I was looking for that again in a ball so after searching for that mushy feel I realized that no ball manufacturer has the special formula. My critique on the NOP was before I realized this so after playing the Pro V1 for a season I figured I would give the NOT another go. I can not believe how good this ball was. Durability off my Vokey Wedge is better than the Pro V1, spin seems to be the same if not better and distance is as good as it can be. I don’t care if my balls get torn up as long as I can get the soft feel and spin out of it. I get this out of the NOT and I can still play it for a few extra holes. I have a dozen of the NOT and Pro V1 (09) left in my bag for this year. I’ll play them side by side but I don’t think that I’ll be able to determine a winner based on how similar the balls perform. I have no allegiance to a specific manufacture so i don’t care if my ball says Titleist or not. Some people will only play a certain ball, I have tried them all and at this point the Nike will be a staple in my bag.
I was looking for a ball with less spin of my irons. I was using the Nike Platinum but my irons created too much spin and I was not able to control my ball flight and control as I desired. I tried the Nike One Vapor and it gave me a little more distance but better yet allowed less spin and more control off of the driver and my irons and at the same time I still had bite on the green.
