hit them today. fitted today also. ordered in for this coming year. 2 degrees upright. rifle project x 6.5 shafts. trying to keep my ball flight lower rather than dynamic gold x100s. i highly recommend getting fitted first they are very pure when you hit them clean. overall great irons after switching from titleist 735cms.

David,
You’d more than like be a good candidate for the VR Full Cavity irons, but that’s just an educated guess. You’d really need to get fitted for the irons to know which ones are right for your swing. I’ve been testing the VR Tour Str8-Fit driver for a little over a month now, and it’s a solid driver. The ball comes hot off the face on the VR Tour and goes very high and far. The big difference in terms of feel from the last years STR8-FIT is how it compresses the ball at impact. In other words, the ball jumps off the face and it feels very plush. You have to hit to know what I’m talking about. Just like the irons, get fit for this driver, so your playing the right shaft, loft, and lie.

im playing with a handicap of 18 and out of the 3 victory red sets which 1 would you recommend for me.im living in irleand and all ive seen is the nike cci which i tried but i dident like also could you give me your views on the victory red driver,im using the nike sumo at the moment and can hit 240 average.would you recommend custom fit aswell

I can only complement the enginering. It works as a blade club – penetrating but forgiving – but when I do miss, it will stop short of the bunkers like a normal blade club! In other words great antibunker irons!

Ken,
The type of shaft you need depends on several factors, like swing speed, desired ball flight, etc. If you weren’t fitted for these clubs, you really should get fitted for them so you have the proper shaft, etc with these clubs. THe OEM shafts are for players with 100+ swing speed and are heavier for less flex, etc. Nippon makes some really good lightweight shafts and play them on my wedges and love them. Get fit, before making another investment.

Hi all

I have these clubs for the last 6 months. Against initial opposition from my pro, I purchased these as my FIRST set of clubs. To tell you the truth, yes they are less forgiving than some cavity backs I tried, but they helped a great deal to improve my swing. I can easily tell when I have a good contact, and identify what went wrong if the ball goes nowhere. The feedback is great.

The only issue I have is with the oem steel shafts. Although I have regular flex, the feeling the shaft gives is not what I can get from some better ones I tried. Nippon 950 is a good example. Therefore a change is in order.

I am trying to find info on what tip type (taper or parallel) to order for these irons. Any information and suggestion would be great.

Thanks for the immediate response Rob! I tend to hit the ball very high but not as far as I would like so I assume that I hit it fairly flush and that I am looking for a slightly lower ball flight. I dont know too much about lie angles and am very keen to to get fitted so that they can answer all of these questions for me. There are local sports shops in Dubai where I have annoyed by continually testing them! However hitting 3 metres away into a net doesnt give me the answers. I think some of the clubs out here fit but I assumed that would then mean getting the clubs they stock which are usually Taylor Made. I really want to complete my set of Nikes so leaves me stuck. If you can tell me whether Nike do any fittings here that would be awesome. Anyone reading this page, come and play in Dubai, the courses are fantastic!!!
