Basic Golf ClassicCool Golf Shirt

Look and Feel
When my ClassicCool golf shirt arrived in the mail, I was eager to find out what makes the Basic Golf ClassicCool shirt different from the dozens of other shirts I own. At first glance, it looked no different than any other golf shirt I own, with the exception of the neon green color, which they call Wasabi Green. I know some people might not like the Wasabi Green color, but the ClassicCool is available in a more palatable Ice Blue color.

After I removed the ClassicCool from the packaging I noticed how lightweight and thin the Cooldry fabric felt in my hands. The Cooldry fabric is made from a 100% polyester fabric which has a silk like hand to it, that is nice and soft. The side panels running underneath your arms feature a stretchable mesh fabric, that’s intended to keep you cool on warm and muggy days on the golf course. The left sleeve and back of the shirt feature the Basic Golf silk screened logo, and top it off with a three button placket, giving the ClassicCool a basic golf shirt look. Like the name of the company implies, this is your basic golf shirt.

The ClassicCool also features an athletic tapered cut for a golf shirt, meaning that it’s not overly baggy. I prefer this type of of cut in my golf shirts, over the traditional baggy oversize cut. So if you like your shirts a little roomier, I would by one size bigger than you normally wear.

Performance

Wearing the ClassicCool, I noticed how lightweight the shirt was and how it moved with my body. I especially appreciated this while wearing a long sleeve thermal shirt underneath it. The stretch mesh underarm panels and Cooldry fabric, did a nice job of keeping me nice and cool while hitting golf balls at the range without restricting my movement. Granted it was only 55 degrees and sunny outside when I tested the ClassicCool shirt, I have no doubts it will perform well.

One of the big selling points about Basic Golf shirts, is that they are “high quality” golf shirts, this wasn’t the case for me during my tests. After I returned home from the driving range, I noticed that the middle button on the ClassicCool golf shirt had fallen off. I’m not sure why this would have happened after one use, but it must have been an anomaly. Basic Golf does have 30 merchandise return policy and would refund your money(less shipping), if your not completely satisfied. The next big test, is to see how well the ClassicCool holds up to being washed. I’ll admit I was little nervous that I might loose another button. After washing the shirt per the care instructions, it did not shrink, no other buttons were lost, and the collar didn’t curl. I was very pleased to see how well it held up.

Despite a few minor flaws, I think that the Basic Golf ClassicCool golf shirt is good option for golfers looking to buy a no thrills, lightweight performance golf shirt that won’t break the bank.
The Basic Golf ClassicCool Golf Shirt retails for $44.95

Available in Ice Blue and Wasabi Green.
