Every spring I go through the ritual of having new grips installed on my golf clubs and this season I was lucky enough to get some of the new Golf Pride Tour Velvet BCT (Brushed Cotton Technology) Cord grips to try out.
I’m a big fan of the Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips because they provide good feel and tackiness without breaking the bank. After all cord grips are not the most friendly on your hands from my previous experience. But that is about to change thanks to the new Golf Pride Tour Velvet BCT Cord grips.
Look and Feel
The new Golf Pride Tour Velvet BCT Cord grips are a combination of a Tour Velvet grip constructed of a tighter-weave cotton twill fiber, that provides great traction and all-weather performance with great feel and control.
The advantage of using cord grips is that they provide superior moisture management and the Tour Velvet BCT Cord grips do an amazing job, especially in warm and humid conditions. I used these grips while playing in Florida on 90 plus degree days with dew points in the 70 percent range and the Tour Velvet BCT Cord grips were extremely comfortable to use through out my round. I thought for sure that the cord would irritate my right hand in such hot and humid conditions, but it didn’t.
The texture of the Tour Velvet BCT Cord grips are on the firm side which provide more traction and will last a lot longer than if you were using a softer material for your grips. You’d think that the grips would be tacky like the Tour Velvets are, but that is not the case since, it has the Brushed Cotton Technology for the cord. I found that using BCT Cord grips to be a lot less irritating than cord grips I had used in the past. In fact, I found that I prefer this combination of Tour Velvet with BCT Cord over the Tour Velvet grips.
The Tour Velvet BCT Cord provided superior shot feedback and you really could feel the difference of a well hit ball and one poorly hit. This is something that you’ll appreciate, if your big on feel and want a grip that is very responsive.
Overall, the Golf Pride Tour Velvet BCT Cord grips are a great improvement to cord grips, by providing superior traction, moisture management, and superior feel with the look of the Tour Velvet grips.

so would you recommened them from changing from the new decade golf grips from golf pride.
thank you buck
Buck,
I’ve used the new decade compound and liked the texture and feel they provide. If you like a tour velvet grip, which is what I like, but want the extra grip of the cord but without feeling harsh go with BCT Cord grips. I really like these grips a lot, and especially if you play in a hot and humid climate the grip the BCT cord provide is amazing! It’s all a matter of preference. I say regrip one of your clubs with the Tour Velvet BCT Cord and give it a try.
Thanks
Rob
