Three years after unveiling Burner 07, the most successful driver in TaylorMade history, the No. 1 driver company in golf is unveiling the next generation of this phenomenal franchise, named simply Burner SuperFast. Weighing just 284 grams (an astounding 14 grams less than the Burner 07 and Burner 09 drivers), Burner SuperFast is a speed demon, designed to deliver increased clubhead speed and superior distance.

TaylorMade Burner SuperFast Driver

TaylorMade Burner SuperFast Driver

Largest Clubface of Any TaylorMade Driver
The Burner SuperFast driver’s improved performance starts with a new 460cc clubhead shape that’s sleeker and more aerodynamic than past Burner drivers. This new head also boasts high MOI for tremendous forgiveness, and incorporates the largest clubface of any TaylorMade driver. Measuring an expansive 4,500 square millimeters, the new clubface is 14% larger than Burner 09′s clubface. The larger face is important in light of the fact that the longer club-length of Burner drivers, like Burner SuperFast, makes it more challenging for the average player to make square contact consistently, and the larger face gives them more area to strike the ball with.

The Burner SuperFast face also features a new bulge and roll design that’s optimized to work with the higher MOI head to maximize forgiveness on off-center hits. Finally, the clubface incorporates TaylorMade’s renowned Inverted Cone Technology, which promotes faster ball speed on off-center hits.

The Burner SuperFast driver also incorporates TaylorMade’s proven Dual-Crown technology, which both lowers and pulls back the center of gravity to promote a higher launch angle and increased spin. Introduced in the TaylorMade Tour Burner driver two years ago, and also used in the Burner 09, Dual Crown technology is tremendously valuable.

Longer, Lighter Shaft Promotes Higher Launch
Also critical to the Burner SuperFast driver’s performance is its Matrix Ozik XCon 4.8 shaft, which is both ultra-light and tip-soft, helping the golfer generate more ball speed, a higher launch angle and more spin to promote more distance. And at 46.5″ in length, Burner SuperFast automatically promotes a wide and fast swing arc.

Burner SuperFast: Our Lightest Driver Ever
Another vital upgrade to the Burner SuperFast is the new Winn Lite grip that weighs just 30 grams, which is a full 14 grams lighter than the Burner 09′s grip, yet it sacrifices nothing in terms of feel and traction. It’s a critical component to our overall quest to make this club, at 284 grams, the lightest driver we’ve ever produced.

Put every element of our newest version of SuperFast technology together and you’ve got a driver that screams through the hitting zone to promote more pop at impact for more clubhead speed and distance than any Burner driver ever has, and that’s saying something. The best news is that all players can take advantage of Burner SuperFast’s speed and distance benefits, as the driver will also be available in a ladies version in its own color palette.

The Burner SuperFast driver is available in three lofts – 9.5, 10.5, HT – and five shaft flexes – L, M, R, S, X.

Availability February 19, 2010 at a street price of $299.

Burner SuperFast Fairway Woods
The 17-4 steel Burner SuperFast fairways share the driver’s aerodynamic head shape and, compared to Burner 08 fairways, are lighter in weight, longer in club-length by a half-inch, are larger in size and deeper of face, all of which combines to make them easier to play and to promote increased distance. At 301 grams they’re the lightest fairways we’ve ever offered, and they also feature the largest clubhead size we’ve ever offered in a steel fairway, with the 3-wood measuring 200cc.

Burner SuperFast fairways are available in 3-wood (13*), 5-wood (15*), 7-wood (17*) and five shaft flexes – L, M, R, S and X.

Availability February 19, 2010 at a street price of $199 per club.

When will be available the rescue of the Burner Super-Fast

Over the weekend I was at a demo day and was hitting this side by side against the R9 SuperTri. On average I found the Burner to be 5 to 10 yards longer than the R9.
I am very surprised that I am considering putting the Burner in my bag. When companies put drivers on diets the result is usually a club with too low of a swing weight and no feel for where the club head is. The swing feel is good especially for a club with a 46.5″ shaft.

I went to my local proshop today to try out the superfast burner myself.I tried the R shaft 10.5.loft..Well ive always hit a bad fade/slice when driving, but with this new burner i hit a whole bucket of balls all dead straight and past the 220 mark..i couldnt believe my eyes..i have never driven so well, god knows how far a pro v1 will go,250 for sure..Ive put aside a superfast driver and superfast 3 wood, cant wait untill the weekend when i can go and pick them up..

Currently I am using Maruman i4000X Shuttle fairway wood and would like to change to use Taylor Made Burner Driver and Fairway wood 3 and 5.

I hit well with the Taylor Made Burner Superfast Driver but I am not able to do the same for wood 3 and 5. Wood 3 and 5 seems to be lighter than Maruman Shuttle. Is there any reason why I am not able to do better than the Maruman Shuttle I have with me.

How to go about to make the Taylor Made Fairway wood a little heavier or the swing weight is different.

Hope to get your reply before I buy the Taylor Made Burner Superfast

Arthur,
Your best bet is to get fitted by a PGA Professional or club fitter in your area. They would be able to help you select the right club, shaft, etc. for your swing.
Good luck.

I have recently purchased this new driver and am very impressed, and using for the first time in comp into a massive head wind still got good distance as i am not a big hitter, currently using the R7 Limited have found the superfast more forgiving and hitting longer, i do however recommend getting the shaft spine alligned as i did this with my R7 and it made a difference will do the same with my new one.

My swing speed is down to 80, typical shot pattern high fade. Is the superfast a fit?

Rob April 24, 2010 at 12:49 pm

D.R.
I highly recommend you get fit for the SuperFast to make sure you’re playing the right setup (shaft, loft, lie, etc) for your swing.
Thanks

Hello, I am curious at the actual lofts for the Superfast drivers? Any idea? Thanks

Donna August 11, 2010 at 9:22 am

I bought the driver, the woods, and the superlaunche irons this year, and I really do love them all. More distance, straighter in all cases. However, I’m wondering if anyone else is having this problem. My driver is losing pain all along the face, top and bottom. Yes, I occasionally mishit, but that’s nothing new, and I’ve NEVER had this problem before, through 15 years of golf with any other driver from TaylorMade (except for one year with Adams, I’ve always used TaylorMade).

Sorry, should have proofread better – that’s PAINT that’s falling off my club (and it’s probably painful!)

I have just finished updating my complete golf equipment and have everything Taylormade. The final purchases were the 3&5 Burner Superfast and they are without a doubt helping me with my game. I have the R7 driver and burner irons along with the Rossa Monza Spyder Putter and have never sunk so many puts from such distances. I truly am a fan of Taylormade products & would recommend them without hesitation!!

I played the TM r7 CGB with a 16gr weight on the heel & 1gr weights in the centre and toe. I loved this driver an d hit it well(I am a 4.2 handicap) though due to age(50 yo) & physical limitations(11 knee & 2 shoulder surgeries) my drives are in the 245-260 range. On a whim I tried the Superfast & my first ball sounded like a gunshot, yet more startling than the sound was the flight path and where my ball landed. The ball rolled just past the 275 yd marker, with probably 260-265 being airtime. This is easily 20 yards past my “normal” drives. Even when I flush the r7, I do not reach the 275 yd marker. I proceeded to hit 19 more drives with 12 reaching the 275 yd marker. I “blocked” 3 though they were playable & were 245-250 yds out. Bottom line: I bought the Superfast. Maybe you can turn back the clock. Fairways & greens 4ever.

I purchased a Superfasst 10.5 driver.
I have to play with an open face due to My swing style.
Miss hits go dead right and long.
When I hit it straight, it goes real long.
Parred every par 5 on one outing,
