AB Golf Designs Eco-Friendly Throwback Head Covers
AB Golf Designs is know for creating some very attention-grabbing head covers and accessories, and at the 2010 PGA Merchandise Show AB Golf Designs debuted its new Throwback collection of eco-friendly head covers.
Made from Recycled Plastic Bottles
Crafted from “green” material more durable than wool, the classic striped knit stockings with pom-pom top are available in a variety of color combinations and sizes for woods, hybrids, and putters. This introduction coincides with the ongoing re-branding of AB Golf Designs, formerly known as Butthead Covers, and the expansion of its offerings.
Although the fabric looks and feels like wool, the Throwback collection is made from polyester fibers crafted from recycled plastic bottles. This manufacturing process helps diminish dependence on oil and minimize waste, in turn limiting toxic emissions from incinerators.
I liked the look and the feel of these Throwback head covers, which reminded me of the head cover that came with the Callaway 460 Driver. It’s nice to see plastic bottles given new life in a golf club accessory like head covers.
