It was a long wait over the last two days for the first round of the 2010 Puerto Rico Open to begin and it finally kicked off at 4:35 PM local time.  In only 45 minutes of golf played over the last two days, the players, the fans, and the media were chomping at the bit to see play resume.

Helicopter drying the fairway on 7

After a brief rain daily a helicopter was brought in to blow dry the 6.5 inches of rain that accumulated on the course on Thursday, which is something I’ve never seen before. Skip Kendall is the current leader at -5 under in nine holes played today within the short 2 hour window.

Let’s see if his lead holds up for the second round on Saturday, where we are hoping a full round of golf to be completed.
