Women’s golf clothing has a lot to be desired when it comes to style and functionality. What woman wants to be caught dead wearing a watered down version of their dad’s golf polo?
But, that’s about to change in 2011, with the fashion forward golf line from Los Angeles based Evan Golf. We caught up with Evan Golf’s Designer and Owner, JeeHee Han at the 2011 PGA Merchandise Show, to walk us through the Women’s Spring/Summer 2011 Collection of golf clothing.
Fellas, don’t be jealous. Because Evan Golf also makes Men’s golf clothing too. We’ll be posting photos and video of the Men’s Collection soon!
About Evan Golf
Evan Golf was started because Jeehee Han, didn’t like what the golf industry had to offer women in golf clothing, which was lacking in the style, function, and comfort department. That’s why Jeehee started Evan Golf, to give women like herself, who appreciate impeccable workmanship and quality materials.
Function and Quality Materials
All of Evan Golf ‘s clothing is designed to be functional first, and made with high quality fabrics and natural fibers, like Promodal, Micromodal, Supima Cotton, and Combed Cotton that wick away moisture, feel great against the skin, and help fight odor.
Using high quality materials makes it easy for Jeehee to style what she calls True Modern Fit, where the clothes hug the contour of the body for a flattering fit.
Style and Attention to Detail
The first thing you’ll notice about Evan Golf is how hip and stylish this clothing line is. The retro-modern styles and silhouettes are really aimed at the younger woman, who want clothes they can where on and off the golf course. It’s clothes that can go everywhere and anywhere.
One of my favorite pieces is the I Heart Weekend Polo made from combed cotton. This isn’t your typical golf polo either, with its chambray and seersucker accents, and heart-shaped chest pocket. The tailored polo has a small collar and yokes, gives it a more casual look. I loved the details in this shirt, especially the seersucker placket and cuffs.
Good for the Environment
Evan is made with natural fibers that leave minimum impact on the environment during manufacturing process. It’s all made by the hands of talented professionals sharing this same mission in Los Angeles. While we support local industry, not shipping goods back and forth around the globe is also our small way of being green.
Quite frankly, I loved every item in the Evan Golf Women’s Spring/Summer 2011 Collection, and I think you will too! It’s refreshing to see a departure from the status quo in women’s golf clothing and move forward with the functional clothing, that can be worn anywhere, and good for the environment. Evan Golf has a bright future ahead of them and can’t wait to see what they do for Fall.
