What's in the Bag Phil Mickelson 2011 Open Championship
You often hear about  professional golfers changing their bag setup based on course and playing conditions. Callaway Golf’s Phil Mickelson, did just that at the 2011 Open Championship, with a few notable changes in his bag last week, which helped him tie for 2nd.

Alan Hocknell, Callaway Senior Vice President of R&D, on Phil’s equipment:
“This has been Phil’s preferred club setup for a while now. Several clubs are customized. He had an option with the X-Tour U18 utility this week but chose the Proto Hybrid we made specially for him for the US Open at Bethpage, based on this week’s course setup. He also thinks he has more control of the Tour i(s) ball than the Tour i(z) in cold conditions and it was cold, even by British Summer standards.”

Phil Mickelson’s Setup 2011 Open Championship:

  • Driver: Callaway RAZR Hawk Prototype driver (9.5)
  • Fairway Wood: Callaway Big Bertha Diablo 3-wood,
  • Hybrid: Callaway prototype 18-degree hybrid
  • Irons:  Callaway RAZR X Muscle Back irons (4-PW)
  • Wedges: Callaway X-Series JAWS Wedges
  • Putter: Odyssey Black Series Tour Designs #9 putter
  • Ball:  Callaway Tour i(s) Golf Ball

Nice setup in the bag. Interesting comments about the ball in different temperatures.
