Every year at the PGA Merchandise Show a slew of new golf products are introduced, with training aids being the largest category of them all. One new golf training aid that caught my eye at the 2011 PGA Merchandise Show Outdoor Demo Day, is The Perfect Putting Aid-designed to help golfers start the ball on line and sink more putts.

About The Perfect Putting Aid
The Perfect Putting Aid was developed by PGA Professional Chad Johansen, who was constantly using the putting gate drill and chalk line to help his students learn about path and starting the ball online.

The Perfect Putting Aid consists of several pieces, a tower, a putting line, and mirror. All three items can be used together or separately depending on what you’re trying to work on. For example, if you want to work on making a proper putting stroke you can use the Putting Line to practice putting the ball down the length of the line without it going off line. Or you can use the mirror to look at your shoulder and head position at address.

Scriver Golf Shirts
The Scriver shirts come in two colors, Black with Sligo Green & White and Haze (which reads more like eggplant) with Medium Grey & White. Both shirts are made with the Technical Polyester Jersey fabric, which provides wicking, UV protection, 4-way mechanical stretch, and most importantly it’s, anti-microbial.

The Grange Golf Shirt
The Sligo Grange golf shirt is made from a black ring spun combed Cotton/Lycra Jersey fabric which features an over sized fleur-de-lis graphic on the back of the shirt, with the SLIGO name written in OId English, going down the center of the shirt. This design is a departure from what you come to expect from Sligo Wear, and will appeal to golfers looking for something different from the run of the mill golf shirt. The Military look is a big trend this fall and the fleur-de-lis is something often seen in coats of arms and flags.

SLIGO Black Dianmond Sweater
If you watched any of the Ryder Cup from Celtic Manor, you probably saw both the European and USA Teams sport a version of argyle sweaters. But those sweaters really lacked any finesse in my opinion, but the Sligo Black Diamond sweater got it right with its subtle pattern and solid color grey diamonds. The sweater which is made from cotton knit, features a solid back panel with a white outlined diamond pattern on the front, and Sligo script logo. A great item to wear on a cool morning over the Scriver golf shirts.

The Titleist 910 prototype driver has won twice on Tour for 2010, most recently by Charley Hoffman at the Deutsche Bank during the second leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs. We caught up with Megan Morgan from Titleist at the BMW Championship to talk about the key points of the new 910 prototype driver and get the backstory on Scotty Cameron Circle T headcovers.

Titleist 910 Prototype Driver

Some of the key features you’ll learn about the Titleist 910 prototype driver is the design, which features an ultra-thin crown. Titleist engineers moved the weight as far back as possible to create a low deep center of gravity, which produces more ball speed off the face and a more stable clubhead.

The face technology being used is the Variable Face Thickness technology, but instead of just a small circle on the face, Titleist mirrored the shape of the face to allow for 15-18% increase in maximum ball speed.

A new feature on 910 prototype driver is the Sure Fit Tour Hosel, or as Megan referred to it, “Tour Van in a hosel.” The Sure Fit Tour Hosel, allows anyone to precisely fit their driver between different degree settings, and independently adjust loft and lie.

Currently the 910 prototype driver is in the Tour Validation Process, where Titleist Brand Ambassadors put the new driver into play in the field, with the goal of finding any flaws or ways to improve the club before putting it into production.

The 910 Driver will be available later this Fall.

Cobra S2 Driver

Cobra S2 Driver Offset
The new Cobra S2 Offset Driver offers golfers the outstanding performance of the Cobra S2 Driver in a maximum draw-biased design. This 460cc 6-4 titanium driver is geared toward mid- and high-handicap golfers who are looking for maximum forgiveness and a high-launch, draw-biased (anti-slice) ball flight that yields superior distance.

The Cobra S2 Offset Driver ($325 SRP) is available in lofts of 9.5, 10.5 and 11.5 degrees, with the new high performance Fujikura Fit-on Max graphite shaft and a Golf Pride grip. It will ship to golf retailers the first week in February.
